Do Now

Vision without action is daydreaming; action without vision is a nightmare.

If you have a vision and there is no action involved then it's basically nothing but day dreaming because you are not going out complete your vision.  But if you have an action without a vision then you have nothing to go after which makes your action a failure and nightmare.

I think this quote is saying that it doesn't only take strength and knowledge to be successful you have to be willing and have power in order to be a successful person. Lack of will is the main difference between a successful person and others because those who are not successful have more will.

"What is granted is often taken for granted"

People take things that are given to them for granted all the time. You may not realize it but majority of the things somebody take their time to give to you, you take it for granted. Someone may grant you something freely but that doesn't mean they want you to take it for granted.

" The surest way not to fail is to determine to succeed" 

If you have confidence that you will succeed and you really look foward to not failing and that is the best way to succeed. You have to have determination and strive for success. Get your mind off loosing and focus on success.

" What makes a father isn't what you leave for your son, but what you leave within your son"

This quote is saying that it's not all about what you give your son or leave them, but it is what you actually teach them and the knowledge you leave within them.  It's saying that what makes you a father is when  you actually benefit your son with something and make sure that you prepare them. It is better to leave something within them than just leaving something for them.
